Leanne Simmons
Leanne is a physiotherapist from North East London passionate about all things lower limb rehabilitation. Leanne studied her undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Brighton before then returning to the same institution to complete her masters to qualify as a physiotherapist.
Leanne has gained a lot of her experience in the NHS and in the private sector, working with sports physiotherapists and sports doctors. Through this, she has developed an interest in lower limb rehabilitation, implementing both manual techniques and exercise prescription to get her patients back to recreation in a safe and effective way. She has completed courses in acupuncture, dry needling and has also completed an imaging course at Hertfordshire University. She worked as a physiotherapist at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, assisting with the athletics team.
More recently, she has worked with ATP tennis physiotherapists in Australia improving her knowledge of the shoulder and upper limb complex. She worked with a local football team and has experience in sports massage and taping.
Leanne is also passionate about practice-based education, facilitating and shaping the next generation of UK based physiotherapists, in her role working at the University of East London.
As a Londoner, Leanne is normally found whizzing around town on her bike, listening to podcast, or following her beloved Tottenham Hotspur FC. Since moving down under at the end of 2022, Leanne has taken to CrossFit and has rekindled her love of reading.
